Geld gaat over jou.
Lees het juryrapport op Saganet.nl →OMG Games exists because debt counselling hasn't reached people well enough for decades. Not because professionals don't do their job well, but because financial problems are rarely arithmetic problems. They're behavioural, emotional, and often rooted deeper than a bill paid late.
Our mission is simple to say and hard to carry out: stop explaining, start letting people experience. The OMG board game brings recognisable financial situations to life at the table, so participants discover for themselves what no leaflet, conversation, or training has ever managed to convey.
We believe change comes from within, not from someone on the outside telling you what should happen. That's why we build a method that reaches professionals and their clients at the same time, adapts to the audience, and delivers measurable results organisations can use to back up their approach.
Our vision for the coming years: giving the OMG method a permanent place within Dutch debt counselling and the social domain, so experience-based learning becomes just as natural as an information leaflet is today.
Naïma Ouled L'Kadi worked in debt counselling for 17 years, 10 of them as a hands-on debt counsellor. She knew her clients and their files by heart, to the point where it became too much. In 2019, she went on sick leave, mentally and emotionally. Recovery took two years.
Something new emerged during that period too. She learned to be vulnerable, to put emotions into words, and to see people in positions of authority not as authority figures, but as people with the same uncertainties as anyone else.
The OMG board game was born during that time, together with a client she'd guided for years. She set the game aside at first, she didn't yet see its value herself. Only when a business coach showed her what she was holding did she pick it back up and start playing it outside her own circle. From that moment, she knew: this is it.
Today, Naïma works at a macro level on money psychology, human behaviour, and environment as drivers of financial change, guided by the same conviction that's driven her for 17 years: money isn't about money. Money is about you.
Beyond her work at OMG Games, Naïma is regularly featured outside her own channels too. She was a guest on FunX's "Money Mondays" series, and appears as a money expert in the "Opgelicht" column at Metro, with a new article roughly every six weeks. She's also a regular guest on podcasts about money and debt. Want to invite her as a guest? Get in touch via the contact page.
Alongside OMG Games, Naïma also works preventively on tackling debt and poverty. She does this through her own podcast and a money guide that helps young people live a chill life without money stress. Financial education is also given at schools.
In 2024, the OMG board game won the Saganet Award, a recognition for serious games in the Netherlands. For Naïma, that was confirmation that experience-based learning about money isn't just valuable for the people who play it, it also stands out within the wider world of serious gaming.
The award underlines what OMG Games has always claimed: a game can achieve more than a course, a leaflet, or a well-meant conversation.
